I en verden på kogepunktet har Anne-Sofie fundet inspiration i de fascinerende, altudslettende og livsgivende vulkaner. Et naturfænomen, der i vores kultur er forbundet med kaos, og som naturhistorisk har været med til at danne atmosfæren og havene på Jorden. På samme måde spiller vulkaner også en vigtig rolle i astrobiologien, som er studiet af liv i universet, idet de kan være kilde til energi og byggesten for liv på andre planeter og måner. Vulkaner er en påmindelse om, at naturen og mennesket er flydende og i konstant forandring — som en uendelig metamorfose.

Det er blevet til en serie vævede landskaber i forskellige skala, der fremstår både overvældende og sanselige. Værkerne har også en syntetisk kvalitet på grund af den brede vifte af materialer, Anne-Sofie har vævet med såsom tæppegarn, plastik, stof, nylontråd og kunstige blomster. Væveprocessen ser Anne-Sofie som en metamorfose, hvor de forskellige materialer, efterhånden som de bliver vævet sammen, bliver bærere af en ny fortælling.

I forlængelse af vævningerne har Anne-Sofie skabt en serie 3D-printede skulpturer, der er inspireret af de kunstige blomster, som hun har vævet med. Hun ser skulpturerne som stiklinger, der er vokset ud af vævningerne.

In a world on the boiling point, Anne-Sofie has found inspiration in the fascinating, all-consuming, and life-giving volcanoes. This natural phenomenon is associated with chaos in our culture and has, throughout natural history, helped create the Earth's atmosphere and oceans. In the same way, volcanoes play an important role in astrobiology—the study of life in the universe—as they can be a source of energy and building blocks for life on other planets and moons. Volcanoes are a reminder that nature and humanity are fluid and in constant change—a never-ending metamorphosis.

This has resulted in a series of woven landscapes at different scales, appearing both overwhelming and sensuous. The works also have a synthetic quality due to the wide range of materials Anne-Sofie has woven with, such as rug yarn, plastic, fabric, nylon thread, and artificial flowers. Anne-Sofie sees the weaving process as a metamorphosis, where the various materials, as they are woven together, become carriers of a new narrative.

As an extension of the weavings, Anne-Sofie has created a series of 3D-printed sculptures inspired by the artificial flowers she has woven with. She sees the sculptures as cuttings that have grown out of the weavings.
